• National Seminar on Victimized People and the Future of Affected Children



Period:	December 3, 2000.
Overview:	Given the commitment to rural development through poverty alleviation, SAHARA Group organized a seminar titled Mobilizing Community Resources for Sustainable Human Development. This one-day seminar encompassed the vision of sustainable human development as a strategy for community development. Even though there is an acknowledgement of this necessity of SHD, it is something that is not naturally given but rather has to be worked out. Nepal, like many other countries in the world, has encountered difficulties when adhering to the SHD concept in the practice. The exposure of new initiatives and strategies on how to transform an idea into actual practices is in order.
Activities:	Two themed papers wee presented at the seminar: "Rural Finance" by Dr. Govinda Prasad Koirala "Environment Management at the Community Level" by Dr. Hiramani Ghimire In addition, two experts per paper were able to comment on the contents if the paper and presentation.
