COMPLETED PROJECTS
- Mine Risk- Education Campaign
| Period: |
2004 - 2006 AD |
| Overview: |
Nepal sustained a decade of internal armed conflict. Parties of the conflict not only applied a direct war strategy but also went to the application of landmines. Abandoned or emplaced landmines have victimized many people and created a risky situation due to their potentially explosive effects in the future. Children are curious by nature and less aware about the shape, form and size of explosives; they are thus highly exposed to the risks associated with landmines. However, those risks can be mitigated by proper education. It is in this context that SAHARA Group launched a "Mine Risk – Education" program. This awareness program consisted in the production and dissemination of information material such as posters, booklets and stickers. |
