Volunteering
SAHARA Group (Social Awareness and Helping Activities in Rural Areas) is a non-for profit organization that was registered in 1997 in Kathmandu District Administration Office. The organization has been affiliated with Social Welfare Council (SWC) in 2000. The thematic areas of the organization are governance, children and HIV/AIDS. Central, Western and Mid Western Development Region are key geographical areas of the organization since its inception.

Apart from the implementation of various projects in its thematic areas, the organization has been encouraging volunteerism in Nepal and Abroad. Focusing on volunteer exchange programme to create the learning environment for the young learner and social service oriented professional people from Nepal and Abroad, cross cultural studies and volunteerism promotion activities are set to implement in the near future.

The volunteers from abroad will be placed in its geographical working areas i.e. Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Pokhara, Gorkha, Nepalgunj, Dailekh, Surkhet, Jajarkot, Dolpa, Humla etc. The volunteer will choose the areas stay with the support of SAHARA.
