Friends of SAHARA

Friends of SAHARA is the main group's support system and its core institutional unit. It is formed by a conglomeration of generous individuals and institutions willing to voluntarily contribute to the activities of SAHARA Group. Furthermore, Friends of SAHARA also serves as a forum for sharing and exchanging ideas, experiences and concerns on various topics of local and global interest.

Since its inception, many individuals and groups within Nepal and abroad have contributed in various forms though Friends of SAHARA to sustain and expand the activities of SAHARA Group.

Who can contribute through Friends of SAHARA?

The Friends of SAHARA membership will be awarded to groups and individuals within the country and abroad who make significant contributions to the activities of SAHARA.

How can one contribute through Friends of SAHARA?

One can contribute through the following forms:

• Advocacy for the Rights of the Child as well as SAHARA's activities
• Fund Raising
• Material support and contribution to SAHARA
• Contributions for SAHARA publications
• Networking
• Information collection and dissemination
• Voluntary service work for SAHARA
• Contributions to the SAHARA Children's Emergency Fund
• Gift donation
• Sponsorship of projects
• Sponsorship of children

The Himalayan Adventure Company (THAC)
Based out of the UK and with a sister company located in Kathmandu, the THAC specializes in treks, tours and other adventures throughout Nepal and the Himalayan Region. With an aim to provide the best quality service at competitive pricing, THAC focuses on a cultural and environmentally friendly travel adventure which actively benefits local communities and charities. THAC donates £10.00 from every booking of its trekking groups to the SAHARA Group.

How to get the membership of Friends of SAHARA?

Individuals or organizations that contribute to SAHARA and its activities in any form will be included in the membership roster.

Interested individuals and organizations in joining Friends of SAHARA are required to fill out the Application Form attached herewith and send it to SAHARA Group Office via email, fax or mail. A confirmation of receipt will be sent shortly after, confirming inclusion on the Friends Membership Roster.
